I just reach my hand it and pull out a chunk, maybe baseball size or smaller, you really don't need much. One bag lasts several months.

Don't buy the filter floss from Doctors Foster smith, major ripp off. Just go to your local walmart, Joann fabrics, or Michaels (any craftstore), and buy the polyester stuffing. Huge back is literally tenths of a penny per yard or whatever. Its the same stuff at a fraction and I do mean a fraction of the price. I cannot believe certain people pay for that stuff at an aquarium retail outlet, its robbery!
