Nano Tanks of GIRS

Nice tanks all! I know there's a few more that should be going up soon so hopefully they'll be able to add to this thread.

I'm still waiting on a custom cube to be built so I have nothing new going on. Can't wait to cycle a new tank again! Hopefully it'll be my last for a long time. :)

So Dr Shimek told me it was a fire worm and might be a bad guy. If these guys have a caruncle (a spike-like hood, he posted an excellent photo) he says its not safe. The photo doesnt show it but I could see a spike on this things head and so I put it in the dispos-all.

As the title says, this thread is the nano tanks of GIRS. We can make our own rules! :D I believe 30 gallons is the limit according to other people's standards but we don't have to follow it. Join us! Just as long as you don't try to come in here with a 50 gallon like tinytool. It may seem like a nano to him but that's seems like a regular sized tank to me.

i'll et some new pics tomorrow if i remember......got most of the frags puttied down to the rock so it looks abit different

I'm eventilally going to get a nano so I can join your little club Sone. Since your the leader of this cult do I have to get my design aproved by you. Would it be considered a nano if it was tied into a 100 gallons of water, but the display was still a 15 gallon? ;)

You're a funny man tinytool! Do what you like man. I already gave you ideas for your new nano. Now go build one so you hang out with the big boys. :D

He's thinking stability and low maintenance, I like that idea. I may plumb mine into my 210 so I won't have to do water changes or keep up with topoff on it anymore!

that guy just has it plumbed into his main display. I'm going to have mine plumbed into my prop tank, it makes less maintnece and less money in electrical and equipment doing it this way. plus you get the added benefit of it being a more stable system, might be cheating a little but...

Regardless, it's still a nano sized tank so I would say you're good to go. By the way, your new design is killer! It's a shame the name is patented already!

I haven't had any updates in a long time. Basically, the current tank has been doing fine, I just haven't done anything to it(aside from water changes) since I was going to be getting a new tank.

Here's a few shots of the new nano, should be here Tuesday. As far as I can tell from the pictures, it was built exactly how I wanted it. There was a small design change to the overflow from the original plan but it had all worked out for the better in the end.

Plans:

Thanks Monty, I just hope I can pull off what I envision in my head.

Lee, I got mine built by Scott at quaticsystemsdesign.com I've seen his work before and was impressed so I had to give him a try.

The Tunze nano skimmer will be going in the back of the overflow. From there, the water will pass through the bottom and into the return pump area. I plan to stick some live rock and maybe some cheato back there as well.

Nice setup, looks like that guy does some good work ;) What a great idea for the movable teeth, how did you think of that one? Tunze Osmolator and I would say your done.
