Nano water change question

I've read several threads where people use their old water from a bigger display tank to do a water change on a nano. Is this recommended and are there any repercussions from doing this?

I personally would use new water. Why would you want to put you nasty old water from your large tank into your nano tank? Nano's are less forgiving.

Thanks, I didn't think it was a good idea but I just wanted to get some input and see if maybe there was something I was missing.

Never understood why people did this or advised to do this.
You do a water change to remove built up nutrients & replenish depleted elements. So why use water that has excess nutrients and depleted elements to begin with?

I only do 10% water change on my nano so I use new water every time. Hope this helps.
