i would like to set up a nano tubastraea tank, stocked with suncorals and dendros or anything else that keeps with diet and feeding times. i have a couple questions tho, like what kind of clean up crew should i get and how big of a skimmer do you think i need? also do you have any other suggestion on stocking?

tank is going to be a 20-29 gal with a sump not sure on size just yet.

Go with minimal lighting and a good amount of flow and you won't need much of a clean up crew. I've added micro brittle stars to my tank and I think they do a good job keeping it free of detritus. But I also have TONS of flow and use a Nano Wavebox. Avoid cleaner shrimp at all costs. Eradicate Aiptasia as soon as you see it with kalk paste. Also, get a turkey baster and blast the rocks every now and then to clean them of detritus.

Your best investment for a non-photo nano is making sure you have a good RO system and be prepared to change your water often. You do not have the luxury of skipping out on water changes if you plan on feeding your corals properly. On my 24, I do 50% water change every Wednesday and Saturday. You can get away with doing half of that. You have to keep in mind you need to contol the nitrates & phosphates. Heavy feeding can wreck havok on your system if you do not have good husbandry practices in place.

Every thing so far is as I figured it would be and I have been having real good success so far with a Balanophyllia which has given me the nps bug and Physhybusiness has some nice Tubeastrea and Dendrophyllia in stock ......hmmmm may set up a small nps tank for those 3 only

I bought 2 :) One was so big I had to frag it. It really took a beating as my epoxy is the worst POS stuff I have ever used, so I kept having to handle it. I hope it recovers.

I wouldn't do much of a clean up crew either, hermits and shrimp would just be a PITA stealing food. Easiest is running it barebottom, good flow and lots of water changes, I had my non photo lps in a 5.5 gallon for quite a while under low light and it was a breeze to take care of. Shut off flow to spot feed and change out at least half the water weekly.
