Ok back to reefin'... have you seen any fluctuation in your Ca and Alk demands now that you have added some LPS corals? If so how are you dealing with it?

Are you planning on lowering the lights any at all? I have a similar setup on my tank, just not pretty looking as yours :D , and sems like I loose a lot of light with it, but if I lower it any more temps seem to raise too much.

I have not tested those in awhile, but I will later tonight and post an update. Previously everything was staying in check with regular water changes.. but I have been slacking here of late.

Yes, I am going to lower the lights about an inch every weeek to let my corals adjust to the light. That is the main reason why we built what we did, but due to temps we may have to keep them higher as well.

Thanks :) Yea, I'm going to keep Oreo (zebra eel) and transfer him over until we get the 120 for him and probably a banana eel.

That's what I'm talking about. Zerba eels are great. One of the main reasons I'm trying to get my tank up and running right now.

NanoGurl,

How you post these PICs in the thread..
I tried but can only post from my Gallery.
I have Yahoo photo web but still can not link it.

She's using a personal website to load the photos and link the photo images to the thread here.

You can do the same with certain photo sharing sites such as Photobucket (www.photobucket.com). Sign up for a free account, upload your pics, and copy and paste the link to your photos here (use the UBB code - starts with IMG)

PS: Sorry for speaking for you NG but I thought I'd save you the trouble ... :)

Thanks Nano Girl.. He is my little buddy..Can we get some FTS???

Sure, I'll take some for you later if I can do it before the lights go out.

It's easy:

[ i m g ] h t t p : / / w w w . p h o t o l i n k . c o m / p h o t o . j p g [ / i m g ]

Without the spaces of course. You just need a place to host your photos to link too. anywhere on the web will work. photobucket is good.

Spleen & NG thanks for the info. Actually i was trying from my web site AT&T Yahoo which allow me to store bunch of photos, I even paste the link but for some reason the photo never shows up in a post.
May be they block outsiders to view them even though I gave them the permission to be open for public....
What is the maximum size I can post ~50kb...NG some of your PICs are close to ~200kb.

sorry for hijacking your wonderfull thread. :-)

Thanks NG and sleeper the photbucket is working and its free.

When you host outside of RC, there is no limit that I am aware of. The only limit I would guess would be wherever you're hosting at. Maybe someone else will know.

If you're using the photobucket tags, you don't need to add your own

Here is a FTS from tonight. I still haven't placed the corals where they are going to go, but for now they are happy and not bleaching anymore so I am happy.

Thanks :) I like the less rock look a lot. Plus I wanted more space for the tangs as much as possible until they are moved.

Wednesday Update!

Not too much to report tonight. I tested our levels and everything was pretty good. We've been having a nitrate problem due to our skimmer not doing too well, but ever since we built the stand for it the production has really increased and is dropping our nitrates pretty fast.

Levels were:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 15
pH: 8.0
Phosphate: 0.5 :(
Ca: 500
dKH: 8

Water change tomorrow, too tired tonight.

Our PBT is doing great. No signs of ick or stress so far and is still eating everything he finds. The corals are looking good and I'm excited about placing them.

Couple of photos I took tonight.

What salt mix are you using? 500 Ca is on the high side especially with an 8 alk. might wanna get a Mg test kit too ;) Don't worry too much about thePO4 for now, skim a little on the wet side and keep the flow up, you should be fine.

Tank looks great :D Are the clowns hosting the welsophyllia or they just happened to be there for the picture?

Thanks :)

I use Reef Crystals. I was surprised it was that high too. Normally it's around 380 to 400.

They host to it. The brain doesn't like it much. I am trying to find a RBTA for them.
