Thanks :) It's still pretty new so I'm adding things to it everyday, but it's getting there. I need friends! FR accepted thanks! :)

Thanks :) Me and my bf do a lot of photography and graphic design. It's just some of my creative stuff that I do. I am slowly adding things to my myspace page if you want to see. I don't think I can post most of it here, but here is one I did the other night.

Hopefully RC likes it lol.

Thanks :) I'm not trying to self-promote anything but if I was myspace would be useful. It's a pretty cool idea for bands and models I think.
 
Saturday Update!

Good news and bad news again!

Good news. The PBT is still doing pretty well and eating, but he looks like he might be scraping again.. so he will be getting another FW dip tomorrow night to see how that helps. His coloration has come back even better, and the rings on his body are fading even more today. That's the good news.

The bad news is my scopas has also gotten this disease and is in worse shape then the PBT was. I tried a FW dip for her last night, and she immediately went into shock. She could not tolerate it at all. I was only able to keep her in there 2 minutes and that was really pushing it. Once she returned to the main tank, she began acting normal again.

I have decided to get rid of the scopas tang. I believe that the two tangs are causing stress on each other, even though they swim together just fine most of the time. My theory was two small ones in a 75g would be the same as two adults in a 125 or greater. I don't believe this to be the case with my rockwork. I believe the way my scaping is, there is really only one good cave for them to hide, and they both want it. Thus creating stress and competition. I believe with more rock work I may have had better odds, but that's just a guess.

So what I have done is setup a 20g long QT/hospital tank for my scopas. I am going to treat her in there and she how she does. If her health improves then I will continue what I am doing currently and keep her in there for a few months or until I am certain she has been cleared of these bugs. I will then give her away to anyone who wants it.

Here is a photo of my freshwater dip setup. It's just an old salt bucket, temp monitor, a heater and an airstone for oxygen.

are both tangs from liveaquaria? maybe the tank wasn't mature enough yet to be adding tangs. like some of the members have mentioned above, PBTs are disease-magnets. i hope your PBT gets through this ordeal. he does look so much better than all the other PBTs i've seen
 
Thanks Kigs :) I agree, he's a really pretty PBT.

No, the scopas tang came from a LFS. She didn't have any ick or problems that I could see when we had her by herself. We only started to see problems once the PBT had been in the tank. The shrimp and crabs and firefish that came from LA are all doing great.

I guess it's possible the tank wasn't mature enough, but I don't think so. The LR was mature and taken from our other tanks, so even though the 75 was new, everything that went into it was pre-existing in other tanks. The LR had lots of algae on it for him to peck at. But I could be wrong.

What I think it is, is the two tangs being stressed bc of each other. With my reduced rockwork they were both trying to stay in the same area, and causing tension.
 
More good news. After removing the Scopas from the tank, my PBT has been acting like a totally different fish. His black colors have come back more, and he's swimming more relaxed and pecking away. I really think the stress from the scopas was a big factor in the outbreak.

I also have not seen anymore scraping since the scopas was removed. Does anyone know if scraping/body twitching is an aggression sign between fish?
 
Hello NG, I believe the shaking is a form of aggression used in border or territory disputes or to show dominance. My clowns and a three stripe will shake at each other over a select spot in the corner, but the clowns always get there way.
 
I think you are definitely on the right track with separating the tangs. You should see if you can take the Scopas back to your LFS for store credit or fish swap after it has regained its health.

It's probably that they're too similar of Tangs in regards to size and body shape. I'm glad that they are doing okay, and I bet the Scopas benefits from the separation also.

I have noticed a great difference in ALL of my fish after having removed my Niger Triggerfish. Apparently he was Chief around there! It seems like the shrimp are even a lot less timid and have been hanging out more in the open during the day, whereas before they would only come out at night when Baloo was asleep.

Good luck with them.

Thanks! That really helps. I read up some more about it and it said PBT will display stripes down there sides for aggression, and mine did do that for a bit yesterday.

Maybe I was wrong all along. I thought he was scrapin against rocks, maybe it was just a territory thing..

Thanks :) Yea, I think your right. I am hoping the scopas surives, i don't want her to die. She was always a very nervous shy fish. Not very cool like my other one I had. I'm hoping she doesn't stress herself to death.

My PBT seems happier, though he seemed pretty happy before. But his color seems to be getting even better and he's swimming around more calmly now i think.. hard to explain.

My plate doesn't move, he's happy. They can move like my brain does by inflating with wather. My brain did that to get out of the light some. Was really interesting to watch.
