Yea, umm he is doing great. The 3 dips is the way to go with the whole black ich thing. After that though he started getting what I thought was a very, I stress very small case of HLLE, which I think was due to the stress of being dipped and so forth. I beefed up his vitamins, algae sheets, and bought some spectrum food. That very small area has completely healed and he is doing great.
As far as the aggression, he has leveled off a some. He still is chasing lucky (clownfish), but, I don't know maybe he just wasn't feeling well because its not near as much now. Great news! I'm so happy to hear that.

Ocean is doing great! He's fat and filled out and shows no sign of illness or aggression or being unhappy. He drifts around the tank perfectly happy for now =)

No, I don't think I posted one in your thread. My tank doesn't look really good right now. I guess I could post an older one or just wait until I get it looking good. But I will!

Flatworm Update!

Today there were def less FW's on the rocks which is a good sign. There still look to be a ton on the sand bed, but the difference between day two and three was noticeable. I did not siphon today, but will continue tomorrow and see how it looks!

Ocean has been doing really well. I have been alternating feeding him red, brown and green seaweed strips every other day. In addition, he gets Formula 1, Formula 2, Spirulina, Prime Reef, frozen Mysis, frozen Brine, and frozen CyclopLeeze. All of the fishies love them all. I have been trying to give as varied a diet as I can. I add garlic every once in awhile as well.

Oreo gets frozen krill and shrimp most of the time. I also target feed my lobster and fire shrimp these as well. They love them.

Nano, lovin' the tank. Glad to hear that all is going well battlying the FWs! My Mandarin took care of those for me, but I had a lot less than you (but was inspired by your example, of course ).

woohoo! Look at your tang, Ocean. What brilliant color. Very nice work and your patience with creatures is amazing. YOU are going to be the guy, well girl, that everyone is going to want an opinion from.

Ocean looks stunning. And congrats on the clean picture of your firefish. Cameras tend to have trouble focusing on them because they are small (tiny mass) and there isn't anything sharp to focus upon. Usually aiming for the eye is the best choice, when it comes to focusing on fish.

I agree that the holders are pants. The solution is very simply though, good old superglue. Fixed in a few seconds.

I was quite surprised at how quickly they do snap off, very poor design...

Yea, I'm really happy we were able to save Ocean. I know he's a tang and can get sick tomorrow, but I'm going to do everything I can to make him happy and healthy for as long as possible! I love him he's such a cool fish.

Yea, I agree it really is. Tunze has been good though I have been talking to them and they are helping me. I will post once it's resolved.

Friday Update!

Sucked another 5g bucket of water/FW's today. There is def considerably less in the tank. There were only maybe a hundred over all of the rocks.. but the sand bed still had a decent amount. Hard to get the sandbed bc of sucking up sand as well. I'll see how they look tomorrow and if not many are visible will go ahead and treat with FW Exit. Can't wait to be gone of these!

In other news.. we went to a LFS today that had a 7' x 24" x 24" tank. After seeing that in person, we def are going to go with a 96" x 24" x 24 vs the 96" x 18" x 18".

The only question we were really thinking about was the heigh at 24". We wanted to be able to use the 150 MH.

Let's hear some opinions of using 150MH on a 24" tank. Planning on keeping mostly zoas, shrooms, ricordeas, and some LPS and a few SPS.

What does everyone think of 4 x 150MH on Reef Optix III fixtures. We have two already. I do not want to supplement light with T5 or VHOs. I would like to not have to upgrade to 250's.

What'cha think?

Well, it wouldn't be my preference. I'd rather see you use 4 x 250w over that tank. Maybe if you could use two enormous Luminarc III reflectors on the two 150w bulbs, you could put two 250w over the tank as well and it would look the same from end to end.

Or set it up 150w - 250w - 250w - 150w. That would allow the tank to look brighter in the center where light loving animals could be placed, and those that don't need as much light on the ends. It would seem like the sun was shining down on the center of the tank.
