Awesome tank set-up. Love the blue tint your MH give off.

I thought I read somewhere on this thread that you were going to purchase a nano reef as well. Did that happen?

The reason I ask, I had recently bought a 24g AP with the 150 HQI MH and love it so far. I hhave a 90g that was a FOWLR but had a Nitrate problem and lost all my fish. Now that I have my nano for a reef (that I have always wanted to start) I am also thinking about upgrading my 90g lights and turning the wet/dry into a sump/refug and starting a reef in that as well. Boy is this hobby addictive.

Thanks :)

No, I was going to get the BC 8 but we started house shopping instead :) Hopefully I can get back into the nanos soon.. i'm missing them!

Got a thread or anything for your AP? Sorry to hear about your 90 :( Hobby is def addicting!

Sunday Update!

Happy Father's Day Dad! (and other dads)

Sorry I have not been posting for a few days! I have been so busy. We have been house shopping for the last few days all day and having meetings and such and I've just been really tired by the time we get home.

The good news is we bought a new house! I can't believe we finally have a house. It's been a long wait and a lot of up's and down's but now the fun starts! We are really excited but also really scared at the same time lol.

Me and clown on Saturday when we bought our home!

Really excited :)

Looks nice.... Congrats! If you think setting up a reef tank is lots of effort, you'll be shocked by the amount of work that goes into building a house. But it is great fun.

Enjoy!

Now that you are building a new home from the ground up, you can build in a fishroom and a glider room with all the amenities. :) Congrats on your 30 year debt.

LoL :) Thanks! Yea, there is a downstairs den/bedroom that's going to be turned into the new glider rooms. Upstairs there is a perfect wall for an in-wall 180 :D

Oh but are you in for it now. ;) Make sure that fish room is big enough for all your goodies, plus room for extra make up water, top off water, a sink, a floor drain (to keep the downstairs dry), a quarantine tank, lots of handy plugs, a ceiling vent fan and in this case I guess you'll probably need a chiller. You could have that vented right out the exterior wall like they vent dryers.

Tell 'em it better be a strong section.

Congrats NG on the new house! That new 180 gallon in wall is going to be sweet! And I'm sure that Marc's got lots of experience to pass on regarding in wall tanks now. :D

This is going to be fun!

Add 20% to all your estimates :) Seems every fish room I have seen built ends up too small go figure...... maybe they are never large enough :)

Let your architect know what you are up too... they can help a ton with material selections Sure wish I had a basement sometimes

Looks like nice homes in the area, but they are all on top of their neighbor's IMO. Land rocks for what you pay for a house like that.

I would try to get the builder to put 10" of concret for the floor of the first floor/ceiling of the basement. That is what I have in my home and it is wonderful to have a big tank in the livingroom and not have to worry about a thing. Sure, it costs more, but the benifits far out weigh the price tag. The floor never makes noise and is always level. Too bad the second floor isn't like that! The concret isn't that hard to drill through either.

Enjoy the house is the making!!

I guess it's true about how couples that stay together start to look like one another. ;)

ooooh i don't think we're going to actually do it! At least not right now. It's pretty expensive the upgrades we've got going on so the 180 will probably be put on hold.. though I hate to downgrade to the 125 just to go buy the 180 later on... hmmm......

Now ya got me thinking :P

Thanks :) I am not really sure we're going to do that.. though it would be so much easier to do it now. Bigger is better! :)
