NanoGurl: I know you know this but it's worth the reminder, imo....

Little steps.

One needs the bedroom blinds immediately but the upstairs, never-used bathroom can wait. A fence is a must for your beautiful canine companion but a while of getting out of the car to open the garage door won't hurt, especially as it provides an ideal gift idea for those interested.

I think your tank provides you with too much joy to consider living without Ocean?

As always, best wishes!!

Awww how nice of you to offer, thank you! =) Anything with an exterior key pad will be fine. We only need one opener, we'll get the 2nd one ourselves =)

hehehehhe

Thank you!

Hey NanoGurl,

Great thread! Went through the whole thing, was very entertaining :) Your tank looks amazing! Quick question if you don't mind, I know it was already mentioned in your thread somewhere but thats a lot of pages to look through again :eek2: , what kind of lighting are you using? I love the look and I would like something similar if I ever get my tank started. Does it work well with growing coral?

Thanks,
Jon

I'm arriving a little late to the conversation...

I worked at an LFS/general petstore when I was 14 (and totally careless). I got stung by a few different things and the rabbitfish was the very painful but not too alarming. Be very, very careful around them. I was scraping algae and it was just swimming around (like they always do) and brushed up against my arm. Like Marc said have someone there to prevent any venomous fish from coming near you while you've got your arms in the tank.

What Nano do you go with Ms. NG? :)

Build thread for the Nano? And what size?

Haha I don't know if I should make a thread or not for it. Maybe I'll just add some photos here. Thinking BioCube 29.

Hi! Thanks!

I am using two 150 MH hqi Phoenix 14k's on Reef Optix III fixtures with Ice Cap ballasts. Very happy with color.

Yes, it's been very good for me growing corals. No complaints =)

Good point, and thanks! If and when I get one we will be very careful. I have no desire to get stung by anything even if it was only like a bee =)

I haven't decided for sure about the nano. More below.

Nano Tank

Well, I havne't decided for sure which one to get. I am thinking the Oceanic Biocube 29. We liked the size and look of it.

We wanted something upstairs to look at and play around with at the new house. The big tank will be downstairs in the basement, and out of view a lot... so we thought that this would be a nice middle sized fun tank for the Family Room.

I'm not looking to get something real fancy. They have the 29 here at a LFS for $349.99. Seems kinda high, but our area is high in everything. They have a cute stand to match it for $199.99

I was also thinking about the new JBJ HQI system.. but that's a lot of money for a JBJ system. I've heard so many complaints it makes me nervous.. but all from past products.

More decisions! grrrrr

Nano Update!

Well, I got it =) I went with the Oceanic Biocube 29. I decided to go ahead and setup another thread for it in the nano forums just for fun, but I will post a few photos here as well from time to time so everyone can still see, even though most might not be real interested in a nano thread.

I'll post a link when it's up and running.

You are so funny and spontaneous and so full of energy! You are so addicted to tanks followed closely by gliders, dogs and . . .what else.haha. You must be a riot to be around.

I love reading your threads and your posts, besides your energy you are also very thoughtful of others opinions and you take the time to reply. Bless you NG.

Geeze if only I were a little younger, better looking, lived closer and you weren't in love. Ok, maybe I'll concentrate in the now and buy a lottery ticket,

lol why thank you =)

I don't know about riot.. but clown has often replied "expensive to be around" lol.

It's true, I am spontaneous and that gets me in trouble quickly. I have a shopping addiction for sure!

The plan for the nano was thought out a bit though... we wanted something in the new family room since the big tank would be downstairs. I would miss not having something to look at upstairs.

Here are a couple of updated photos of the nano =)
