Nanoreefbro's 233 gal Leemar Starphire Tank!!!

Well I bit the bullet and decided to upgrade from my 150 gal. My fish were getting bigger and there were some things I wasn't completely happy with my last tank so this time around I wanted to correct those issues. I've had this tank for awhile now but with going to school, working, and trying to find someone to build a sump, and stand. I just didn't have the time until now. The tank I got this time is:

Leemar 72" x 30" x 25" Starphire front and right side
4" Eurobracing on top with no center braces
Diamond Edge, Black Silicone, Black back, black bottom
Calfo Overflow with 3 1 1/2" holes for BeanAnimal Overflow design
2 1" holes in back corners of tank

Here are some pics of the tank once I got it home. Thanks to Matt (Fish n Frags), Ron (Onad75), and Kris (KT-150) for helping me get it in the house!

I bought about 6 boxes of the Tukani/Pukani live rock. It's really light and easy to work with.

It's been curing in my garage for about 6 weeks now...

Well I needed a sump and John Hoang from Advance Acrylics definitely stepped up to the plate. The sump was so clean and nice that I debated on using it as a sump and making it into a tank instead.

Anyways here are some pics of my sump

I spoke with John about having access to cleaning out my filter sock holder so he created a removable/adjustable filter sock holder.

Man....you're off to a great start. What a beauty of a tank.

The workmanship is excellence and the sump is a really beauty. LOVE the idea of the removable filter sock holder !!

I see you're getting a head start on the stand and canopy. Are you planning a cover canopy top or letting the canopy float (hanging) as for such a beauty of a tank, would be a shame to keep to close!!

What color stain....!! How about flow?? And lights?? ooooh so many questions, which I'm sure will come out in coming posting

Nice, what are you plans for circulation?

Right now I have two MP40W Vortechs and I also have a pair of the 6045 Nanostreams that I plan on using. My return pump is a Reeflo Snapper

Thank you Ed, Yeah that was something that I talked to the owner of Advance Acrylics. He suggested the removable filter sock holder instead of the conventional holder that is glued in place. I'm going to be using a canopy top since my lighting will be 3 Lumenarc Mini Reflectors. I haven't decided on which bulbs I will be using but they will be 250watt. Maybe either 14K or 20K? I've heard good things about the Aquamaxx Bulbs so we will see...

Who is making your stand for you? It looks outstanding.... John did a great job on the sump, also.

Hi Joe, I think you've heard of Acrylic World? They are in Orange County. He is building it for me. I will be picking it up this Friday... Yeah John is awesome. I will be using him from now on. I am contemplating on having him building a 50 gal tank for me since the one I have now is starting to bow.

Acrylic world makes a pretty dang nice wood stand, lol. That looks oustanding. I will have to subscribe just so I can remember their name, when I can afford my stand lol. It looks terrific so far.

Yeah thanks it looks great so far.. I'm really excited to see it in person. This is the last piece to the puzzle. Once it's done I can start setting this bad boy up.
