Nanostream 6055 No longer Runs

Hi Roger,

I have had a 6055 for about 18 months now and it suddenly stopped working.
I have cleaned the propellor assembly with no luck.
The ac to dc transformer appears ok. The light is blinking every couple of seconds. Is this correct? Or, should the light glow steadily?
I have no way to test the small box that contains the electronics.

Any suggestions?

Gary

The light should glow steadily, blinking indicates an overload, basically you are exceeding the 30W capacity of the power supply, typically because the propeller assembly is stuck, remove the propeller assembly (drive unit) ,do not force it if it is stuck, instead soak it overnight in vinegar and try a slow twisting motion. Be sure the metal shaft remains behind in the motor and soak the motor and drive unit in 50/50 vinegar and water until no lime scale is visible. A clean pump will use 18W, a dirty one can spike to 30W and trigger the safety shut down (blinking). They need to be cleaned at least every 6 months.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the reply. I will soak the pump in the vinegar and water mix overnight

and let you know how I make out. I will have the result tomorrow.

Roger,

I have soaked all the parts in vinegar and water. Everything appears clean.
Still no luck, however. I am plugging directly into an outlet. If I disconnect the ac to dc transformer from the small box between it and the pump, the light on the transformer burns steadily. When I plug and small box and pump back into the transformer, the light returns to blinking.

Do you have any other suggestions I could try?

Gary

Gary,

I would send it in, at this point I think we have tried everything and their must be a short in the motor. Please include the pump and power supply. Do not rush it, I will be in Germany at the factory next week and will get to any repairs that arrive next week when I return to work Sept 2.
