Just a note...the new Tunze Nanostreams are great, but just beware of the magnets. They are very strong and snap together with no warning and can severely pinch fingertips...don't ask how I know!

I just saw these for the first time. WOW!! They put out more flow than a MJ with Mod and they only use 6W of power compared to MJ 25W. They're still expensive, but save 456W of power per day in comparison, about 13.7KwH per month, saving quite a bit of money each month. With Progress, assuming you go over the allotted 1000KWh, it costs you 11.879 cents per KWh, saving you about $1.62 per month, or just under $20 per year for each mj you replace with the new Tunze. If MJ with mod cost $40 and the Tunze costs about $120, it pays for itself in 4years, besides the fact it is stronger and better flow from what I have seen, takes up less tank room, transfers less heat to the tank.

I'm a little confused where you guys got your numbers from.

Not the one I'm talking about!!!:

Turbelle® nanostream 6025
For aquariums from 40 to 200
litres (11 to 53 USgal.)
Flow rate: 2,500 l/h (660 US gal./h)
Energy consumption: 7 W

The one I am talking about:

Turbelle® nanostream 6045
For aquariums from 100 to 200
litres (26 to 53 USgal.)
Flow rate: 4,500 l/h (1,189 US gal./h)
Energy consumption: 8 W

Sorry, I read it wrong, it is 8W of power, not 6W like I originally mentioned. The 6045 is the better of the two, and there is a 6055 that is variable speed and variable wattage that is not created for our 115V, but instead for the 230V to be used by a controller.

Also, from what I have been reading, most of the mods created make the power consumption between 15-20W. That all depends on the prop used, resistance from water pull, and resistance due to SG, not to mention that this is probably tested in fresh water, completely cleaned, with a brand new MJ to get such a low wattage as 10W. Lowest I have heard recorded was 13W, most on the higher side of 15W.

i am running a nano stream for a couple of weeks now and i am impressed.forget the specs,it kicks a--.not for a nano tank imo,it will blow the polyps off a acro imo

i like my seio m620. pumps out 620gph and i got it for $35. The tunze's look neat but could never justify the money for a powerhead.

not bad, im sticking with maxi mods till im done with college dont have the money to put into tunzes just yet:) Although i do graduate in 3 months:)

the 6025-which puts out 660gph is only around 60 bucks-not bad when compared to all the hastles of dealing with seio's.my seio got demoted to salt mixing, but now i can't even get it to start for that so i'm back to the mag7 which heats the bucket of water up to around 90 in just about 15 min.I always wondered why i struggled with water temps in my 65 with just 2 175W lamps and 4 fans.I really want to get 2 of the 6045 to go with my 6200

im actually about done at fullsail doing my bachelors in Computer Animation and Visual Effects....I plan on doing digital sets and envrioments for film or games=P
