Nanostream and wave maker timer

Can the small nanostreams be run on a wave maker timer? I believe I heard you cannot do this, but I would like to confirm.
Has anyone tried it?

They need a long interval of at least 15 minutes to keep a decent service life. They will last longer the less they are switched. It is possible that periodically, especially as they become dirty, that they will run backwards. It is not ideal but within limits, it is possible.

I am going to be buying two 6045 nanostreams this weekend. If I want to hook them up to a timer (greater than 15 mintues stopped) do you have any suggestions? Or will any nice electrical timer work. If started and stopped is there a duration that I need to be sure they are stopped for?

Also, would some sort of device that does soft starts help to lengthen the service life of them?

Does Tunze plan to make a wavemaker for these? Or is that not practical?

There really is no such thing as soft start, the speed of synchronous pumps is controlled by the Hz, ramping up voltage really does not change the start. I would just use a timer, we have no plans to make a wavemaker, we do offer a nice timer in Europe but it doesn't work on 60Hz our plan is to get a nice 60Hz timer.
