Nashville coral stores

On my way home to Memphis after the Chattanooga frag swap, I plan to make the required stop at Aquatic Critter and, I'm sure, acquire a new coral for my tank. Are there any other shops in Nashville with an excellent selection of corals to choose from?

not any other SPS that im aware of. thats why they're so "high" on pricing. last visit (before the shooting last week) a coral banded cleaner shrimp, about 3" long was $45.00 now i goto Emerald Bay, in Bellevue. (hwy 70 south) they have some SPS but mostly LPS. REEF-ON!!!

Gotta agree with eyebedam... I've definitely never seen a coral banded shrimp listed above $20 unless it was in a mated pair, in which case they put the price for the pair.

As far as potentially good stores, I mostly frequent the Aquatic Critter and Emerald Bay (depending on what I'm looking for). Unless I'm mistaken, these are the closest to your route, with AC being a little off I-24 and Ebay being a little bit off of I-40. There are a few others, but they would be farther out of the way. Check out our website (here) for numbers, addresses, and maps to the local stores. The Fish Bowl is still listed on there, but unless I'm mistaken, they have gone out of business.

Hope you find something you like :)

I'd hit EBay for sure (as well as the Critter, but needle to the vein...needle to the vein). I've spent quite a bit in there lately, but there are a few nices things left;). EBay is kinda on the way, too (5 minutes or so off I40). The Critter usually has larger sps and more selection, but Sean's still got a few nice pieces from Walt Smith. Hit em both:).

Drats! Busted! My wife always told me I'd get caught if I ever stepped out. Maybe Richard can keep a secret and won't rat on me. (Bring you something from Chattanooga, maybe?)

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to hit them both on the way home. But what's this about a shooting? Do I need to pack the trusty Glock?

Yeah, maybe you'll get lucky that way.
You're such an E.B. Farnum.:p
As long as you're stepping out ,hit up RDU in Jackson on your way home.

Well as EB would say, it's better to cover one's tracks than to end up on the hill with the poor Hoopleheads. Actually I feel more like EB's help Richardson most of the time.

Richardson is an untapped well.

The Fish Bowl is out of business. I just updated the site.

Bermuda Triangle in chattanooga will be giving 20% off everything in the store after the frag swap. Not sure what your looking for but might be something to check out.

I didn't know fishbowl went out of business? When was this? I wonder if they had a big sale?

WHAT?? fish bowl went under??? wow. nice folks, just not any selection. DR PEACHES, you may want to stop at that place in Jackson, I think it is called Reef down under. Very nice joint with a good selection. I have had good success with the last coral I transported from there. it spent about 6 hours in the bag! if anything, the 500gal show tank is worth the look.

I drive by The Fish Bowl two or three times a week. There's a large dumpster setting out front and there are never any cars there....not even Mickey's black Dodge. There's a sign on the door, but I've never driven by close enough to read it.

I agree about their selection. They were nice enough people, but they hardly had anything that looked healthy enough to take home...at least in the saltwater area.

If you call their phone number, it says that it is disconnected.

Thanks for the advice y'all. I've got my coral-hunting route plotted through Chattanooga, Nashville, Jackson, and then home. Now if I can just control the spending. Maybe I should leave the Visa at home.
