Nashville Frag Swap Pitures

Hi y'all,

We had a great time at Nashville Swap last Saturday. Here's some pictures that Mary Ruth took and sent to me kindly:

Some of the raffle prizes. The grand prize was a Red Sea Max complete set up (valued at more than $1000) - I don't think the tank and stand in this picture is the one, though:

Great Pics Tomoko... Especially the one of my back... lol :) Did you guys decide when/if you guys are having your swap???

We have discussed about it some during our December meeting. However, the shop who was going to provide the space for the frag swap is backing out. So we are back to the square one.

Tomoko

Oh well... Hope you guys can make it up to ours!!! :D Assuming we get things going... lol

Think crack show with crack around every corner:D.

And you're one of my favorite dealers... :D I forgot to grab a Caroliniana frag from you...

I've got more for you, Randy. I went deeply into the hole at this one. I broke even on prebuys, but lost out on mileage, food, and dead frags from the long trip (lost every caroliniana frag I took-they sat in the frag tank until the next day and the water was getting cloudy)... I may have to take a much smaller portion of the street corner next time (brought back over 90% of what I took and sold less than three acros...). We had a great time, but one of the worst selling swaps for me so far (didn't seem to be the norm for most)... Seeing the people you haven't seen in some time is a big draw, though;). That's what keeps me coming back.

I'd say 95% of what I got was prebought/traded for... I was too poor after that... Now I'm really kicking myself for not grabbing one of those carolinianas... I hate to think of all those going to waste... I got too caught up with the socializing/heckling... I think thats what made me forget to come back to your table... :)

I still have the mother of the caroliniana's, so no problem there. There are actually three or four other frags of it hanging out in the frag tank. Can;t figure out how to get it to color up for me. One of the guys in MTRC got one from me in Chattanooga and said it is completely purple... I'd be happy with purple tips.

I didn't mean to sound so negative in the above post. I haven't changed with the times and done good presentation of my corals (printed pics with prices would have changed the world for me). Next time...

Enough of my whining, though, let's see some frags from the swap:). Did you pick up any, Tomoko? I picked up a few nice pieces, so I'll work on some shots.

Yes, I picked up more than I should have, lol. I only purchased two or three frags before hand, but I found so many pretty things I just had to have :)

I will post some pictures in a little bit.

Tomoko

I did not mean to get this many frags, but a 11 yrs old boy kept coming back to trade frags with me, and I did not have a heart to turn him down. So I ended up with three extra frags. I also have three other zoa frags on a frag tray.

Here's the picture of my make shift quarantine/observation tank(taken on the day after the swap):

I put my corals in the tiny tank after dipping them.

Here's some up-close pictures:

Aussie acan - quite deflated. It is a bright orange one:

Not a good picture, but it's a frag of lime green table acro ($5 from the fragging workshop)

I should have looked harder. You got some nice stuff. I had spoken for so much before the swap that I was nervous about making enough to cover my pre buys. It was a nice feeling when I picked everything up from everyone and finally had a dollar in my pocket:).

Thanks gflat. I also made more than I spent - this is surprising to me.

The best finds this time were Cee's red milli with blue tips, ORA blue milli from chadfarmer, and PPE from fishdoc. Oh, I should not forget the pretty acan and blue clove polyps from Casey. I also love the rather unusual purple Porite from Art.

I am having a trouble finding spots for all my new frags. Wonder how I managed to fill in the space I made by getting rid of a bunch of corals back in October when I ousted a couple of marauder fish. I am afraid that I need to frag up and get rid of a really big orange monti cap. I hate to do it, but the monti cap is taking up just too much space.

Very nice, Randy. I am surprised that you had enough time between heckling to snag these beauties ;)

My Acan is inflated now and it looks a lot like the 2nd one you have.

Nice pics. I am sorry I could not make it but I missed my connection Thursday on my way home from New York and did not get back until Friday and I was too tried to drive to Nashville.
