naso died

Ive had a kole tang and juvenile naso tang (3in long) for about 2 1/2 months now. i got them at the same time to reduce stress. they got along great and seemed like they were healthy. i just discovered my naso floating by the overflow so he must have died last night. everything else in my tank look alright and i threw some carbon in the sump and did a small water change with what i had already mixed.i cant think of any reason he died other than maybe starvation because he never took any prepaired food only grazing on the algae in the tank and since ive upgraded my skimmer and got rid of my wet/dry theres been alot less algae. Any thoughts on what the cause of death could be?? This is the first time anything in my tank has died.

how longdiod you have it was it imasiated??? nasos can be prety finiky sometimes and do die from starvation rather quickly do to the fact that they are very active and need a well balanced diet due to this
