Naso Tang just stopped eating!

Hey all. I have had a Naso Tang in the tank for the past 6 months. He has always eaten like a pig and will eat anything I drop in the tank. I haven't added any new additions (except for a juvenile Blue Ring Angel 3 weeks ago) in the past 3 months. The angel was in the QT and treated before he went into the display. The Naso looks great as do the other fish, but is there a reason he would just stop eating? No disease has ever touched my tank. Is he changing to an adult maybe? Let me know as I am a little worried! Thanks.

I am sure some additional info will help. Could you list the size of the tank/system, other livestock, any water quality issues or any possible signs of disease or infection, what you have been feeding, how long he has not been eating for, and maybe a picture of the Tang?

Naso

Naso

Salinity: 1.023
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Calcium 400
Ammonia: 0
PH: 8.0

He has been eating everything including: Mysis shrimp, bloodworms, chopped clam, nori twice a day, reef frenzy, micro pellets, and cyclopeeze.

He just started not to eat yesterday. Just seems weird to all of a sudden stop eating. A picture is below.

Also, the tank is a 240 gallon. He is about 5 inches right now. The other livestock are all peaceful (Dsjardini tang, lemonpeel angel, anthias, hawkfish, royal gramma, algae blenny, chromis).

Well, you have a somewhat different view on what constitutes 'peaceful' than I do, but regardless, Naso ought to be fine with the tank-mates you have listed. You cannot be sure no disease has ever touched your tank of course, and the fish may be coming down with something, but it also may just be it's got a belly ache. I have had Tangs stop eating for a few days and then resume ..... no clue as to why.

I was actually thinking of something like that, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks a lot ca1ore! Any other suggestions are always helpful as well. :)

Mine did the exact same thing about 1yr ago. Lasted 3 days and then he went back to being a pig. I changed nothing and did nothing to make him start eating again. I have no idea what caused it...but hes fine now
