Naso Tang with Incredible Streamers

So I was lucky enough to visit Hawaii and spend some time snorkeling. I saw many amazing things, one of which was this Naso Tang with amazing streamers. I don't know if it's possible to get an appreciation for the size of the fish and the streamers from this image.

Pretty neat, those are probably the longest streamers I've seen.

I'm curious about the sand wall behind it, it looks like that recently formed into a hill... is that sand back there or some kind of really flat old coral? It's odd, I've spent a lot of time in the water in Hawaii and I dont remember ever seeing that type of formation in the water, be it sand or corals or lava or whatever...
 
I think it looks like a sand wall because of the angle at which the picture was taken. The sand is horizontal. Hope that answers your question.
 
Check out the size of those tail barbs as well. I went diving off of Maui last year and those big naso's were my favorite as well

awesome fish. makes me want to get back to the islands.
I'll be landing on Maui on the 31st of this month, I can barely wait :)
