(I posted this in New to Hobby but thought it would be good here too for a different group).

I ADORE my Blonde Naso and having one finally after dreaming for so many years. He has settled in and seems to be doing very well in his new home.

My concern was with him feeding. I have many things to offer him and he has never been eating to which we can see, besides picking off the reef. Last night I came home to a Shrimp Shell on the sand and sure enough, I was down one Cleaning Shrimp. Right in front of me today, a cleaning shrimp was by him and he just plucked him right off, disposing the shell in the sand. I was shocked as I know he is a Herbivore and have never seen ANY warnings in regards to Shrimp or such. A bit sad as I enjoyed my Cleaning Crew and paid $90 alone for them but realizing they are now his food.

Had the same thing happen to me when I was first starting off with my Yellow Tang and Purple Reef safe lobster, right in front of my eyes the very next morning after adding the thing, the yellow tang came down like a dive bomber and picked it off inch by inch...Have no idea why but sometimes tangs act crazy if you ask me....:eek1:

Wow, that would be frustrating to see for sure! Did you ever have a problem with that Tang and anything else after that? I am hoping the other Shrimp won't all have to die and he will start eating the frozen before that. Seems I am only missing the one I saw him eat, though I can't figure out where the other obvious shell came from.???

Oh my goodness, I forgot Shrimp molt!! :mixed: So, the one shell I found on the sand last night was a molted shell since they were all still there until he plucked the one gone this afternoon. I am only missing the one shrimp that I saw him eat! That feels a little better if he stops eating them.
