Nassarius eggs

I have a few nassarius snails in my tank and I keep coming across eggs. I posted pics of the eggs before and was told that they are nassarius eggs. My question is do I have all female snails? I find the eggs all the time but never see any more snails. Granted I don't know what look for if they hatch. So any ideas would be helpful.

My nassarius snails have been laying eggs for 9 months and I don't know if any of the young survive though I do have tons of very small snails in my tank and refugium, but there are tiny species of snails that are just small so it's hard to know.

Most of the eggs eventually do hatch though some just stay on the rocks forever. I have to see if I can find pictures of what the young look like as I do have some very small snails that are shaped like nassarius with very similar shell patterns but they are white with brown lines and the adults I have are black.

Sorry that I can't be more helpful.

You have been very helpful. Mine seem to be particular to laying there eggs on the glass. I have two strands on my glass as we speek. One is about 3.5" long and the other is roughly 5 to 6" in length. I had a batch about a month ago and haven't seen anything of baby snails.

My apologes. I thought they were nassarius eggs. They are cerith snail eggs. Again my apologes. So am I going to have hundreds of snails or could they all infertile?

I think snails are hermaphrodites, and that the two partners usually fertilize one another. I'm not sure this is true of all snails, but that was the impression I was under.

from what i understand...Ceriths are the most prolific breeders in home aquaria...and the hatchlings will likely survive and you will end up with tones of snails...

nassarius snails leave little individual egg sacs on the glass, that look an awful lot like salt drips you would get on the outside of your tank...sometimes clustered...but often not linked at all..the survival rate of nassarius snails in home aquria is very, very low....

Which are these.

Which are these.

Are these cerith or nassarius eggs. These pictures from a couple months ago but this is what I have on the glass again.

Do I have to do anything special for them? And what are the chances of survival? These pics are from a month ago. This time I have two strands.

Well all the eggs have disapeared. Now I am afraid to clea the glass since I can see tiny white specks on the glass. So do these babies have a chance to survive? How long will it be so I can cleean my glass? The cuc does a pretty decent job of cleaning but I can still see a slight film on the glass.

if your ceriths are laying eggs, theres a very strong likely hood they're laying them in other places as well. Mine have laid eggs on all 4 sides, all 4 corners (more here than anywhere, they must like the silicone), on rocks etc. So don't be affraid to clean the glass. You'll have more eggs soon enough and there's probably been some in places you haven't seen them.
