Nassarius no sand?

Im upgrading tanks right now. I have rubbermaid containers to house my corals and rock but their sandless. I will be houseing the corals in rubbermaids until the new tank is ready. Fish are being QT so they cant go in there. Will nassarius die if they are not given sand to bury in?

No. They won't enjoy it very much, but I don't think they'll die. I would suggest maybe putting an inch of sand in one rubbermaid to keep them in so they can hide, but if that's not an option they'll be okay.

I think adding sand is the thing to do. I would also target feed them something like mysis shrimp from time to time as there will be no fish food or waste to scavenge.
