i just added 2 nassarius snails to a cycled 6 gallon i started about 6 months ago, the last 3 days i noticed they have layed eggs on the side of my tank.. "lots" the info i find says that propogation of these snails is extremly difficult. is there anything i can do to increase the chances of there survival? there are no fish in this tank just live sand, rock, and green star polyps. thanks for any help.

It is very rare. You would need a filter system that did not suck them up. To be honest, it would be a waist of time for you. I had hundreds in my tank and nothing ever happen.

If you did want to try I would try and learn the habits of the Nassarius vibex. Learn it's biology, mating, habit. Learn everything you can learn about vibex. To go further you may have to go to an educational institute to learn more. Or you could email/write experts in this field.

I can tell you one thing. You will not get any good information from a tyypical aquirium store. Every time I go the people there dont even know what types of snails they have.

Good luck.
