hi all , i have been here on reefcentral for a while , but do not really post much. i really love this forum and the more i look around and read , i realize how knowledgeable and respectable this forum is. Anyhow , i figured i would start sharing more here and to get started i will bring my build up to date here. Tank is in mid cycle and hopefully will be ready for livestock when i return from europe at the end of the month.

equipment

Tank - 200 gallon deep dimension
Lighting - 3 x ecotech radionxr30w pro

sump room coming along

rock work at final stage

some more photos of build.

used dyna mat under the stand frame and on plumbing to cut down vibration noise. working quite well.

Looks good so far!

What kind of rock did you use? Did you cure/cook it?

thanks alot ! that is marco rock and marco shelve rock. it comes dry, i am curing and cycling it in the tank with carib seaflore special grade dry sand. i am using bacteria and ammonium chloride to feed the bacteria.

looks serious so far, good build...

thanks maxx ! this is a culmination of knowledge, old and new equipment from my last big tank. now that i am a home i am buying i felt it was time to get a tank and settle in for a while.

makes sense to me, new systems are always fun, I too take knowledge from one system to the next. adding new equipment is exciting also...

here is a shot of my old 220 custom when i had it up and in it's prime. was sad to give that tank up and also the colony's i had grown from babies over 2+ years.

yeah , i have always ran halides and now i get to try straight led. i am excited to see how they fair and i love the flexibility and control. also , with this system i am keeping things really simple. the 220 was setup in basically the same fashion and i had great growth and success with that system.
