Nature's Best Fish

sps freak!
Are they still in business? Someone told me they thought they were going out. I have never been there before and want to check it out.

I was in a couple of weeks ago. The owner had surgery and they ran VERY limited hours for a few weeks. I think that was last winter maybe??? But yes, they are open. I drive by there every day.

As far as never having been there before and wanting to check it out... keep your expectations low.

I don't think I'd call it a bad store, but it's certainly not a nice store. Selection is slim, prices are high...

Tim and Dave at Abc in Syracuse have amazing livestock. They are willing to order anything you want. They also do their best to match or beat anyones prices on dry goods. By far my favorite store in the area.

Definitely the best selection of livestock, and no one else is even close. They are always getting in shipments, and everything is healthy. Prices are better than any lfs I've been to, and competitive with on line pricing.

They don't stock much in dry goods, just the staples...but can and will order just about anything for you.

I like ABC but I once spent 600. There and didn’t receive any discount not any throw ins and prices were as marked. There was no personnel touch no asking what my tank parameters were. I had money and they had a product. Much like on line buying except no shipping cost just gas and time which depending on where you like could cost more than some online buying places. Again nothing bad about ABC I love the shop but have no ties. It’s like every other place they know they have a good selection so they charge what they think they can get for it at first if it doesn’t turn over fast 1 or two things happen they either frag it into pieces or drop the price. I really think going on line is the best bet. You may pay for shipping or may not depending on the website. More often then not you get a better variety on line. No there is 0 personnel touch unless you befriend a certain website. If a friend ship is forged shipping prices may change and they know what your interested in. I believe it is all personnel preference

Plus 1 for ABC reef. Great selection and the best is you can email or call Tim a week before and have pretty much any live stock or dry good there waiting for you. The dry good price matching is great too. I like being able to go some where and look at the fish or coral before buying rather than ordering from a picture. And unlike local stores in the area you can bring a fish or coral back if it dosn't make it and get store credit or another one. Also they are expanding the store for even more selection on hand. And the number one thing that I like is walking into a store and seeing great looking show tanks. A huge disadvantage around this area is no store has a display that you go OMG I wanna have that in my house.

ABC is totally worth the drive from Nineveh. Creature Comforts seems to be making a new effort if at least for more sales than anything, but at least they have some things in stock. Livingstons in Bingo is different and now and then is worth a trip when you are board and already in the area. Nature is what it is, a local store with limited selection and a nice owner to chat with. Maybe a little pricey, but FishFunds add up over time if the 20% stay and I think it makes them a little more on par for the regulars.
If you have never been, I think it is worth the short trip for you, but he is closed on Tuesdays and I think Sundays now. Also is not open very late during the week (7 on Monday and Thursdays I think)
