FYI,thanks to Rick Pucciarella and Larry Kravitz we are proud to announce our new and improved web site.It will be up and live shortly and have some cool features. We will have our own chat room to do meetings or just shoot the S***,we will have access to all society documents, and a nice clean web site to do our club business. Many more new and better features being added as I type.

We may need members to register for the new site but it is possible it may not be necessary.I will fill you guys in when it goes live.

Be sure to support our sponsors.Without them we would not have the great raffles we have been enjoying these last couple years :)

Things are shaping up nicely. Larry has put a lot of time and effort in to the layout, design, and features we are going to be using.

One feature I am really excited about is the new "registration component"

This will allow members, nonmembers, and vendors to register for our events. All our events will be listed on the site and payment for any fees associated with any event will be able to be prepaid through the website. Also this will eliminate most of the long registration process associated with getting into the swap on swap day! We won't be using sign up sheets at the door if you have registered and paid through the sites registration component!!! We are hoping that this will shorten the lengthy lines we have had at TFP.

Depending on how the componenet is setup you may also be able to request your table space through the registration as well!

Anyone have any suggestions for improvements to an already cool new site?

The new site is ready to go "live". We are just waiting for the Domain Name transfer to go thru.

If anyone has the NCPARS site bookmarked, check your bookmarks. The old site might be listed as www.ncpars.org/joomla. The new site will not have the "joomla" in the URL. It will just be www.ncpars.org.

Everyone will have to register on the new site. The new site is coded differently and uses a newer database so I couldn't transfer all the old user accounts for fear it would corrupt the new database and crash the site. Sorry for the inconvience, but it will be worth it. :) You must also login to the site to see all the features. Some are only visible to registered users, including the live chat and certain sections of the forum.

The Swap Registration feature works great. As Rick mentioned, you can register and pay the swap fees online. A spreadsheet will be created showing who registered, who paid, who needs a table for their tank setup and how many are attending. This will greatly reduce the workload for the NCPARS Board of Directors and for the people working at the swap registration tables and should speed up the whole process.

See you all there soon.

Hey Dan, how did you get your profile pic to change. I tried updating mine a bunch of times, but it doesnt seem to take and I dont see size requirements anywhere

Joe, I'm not sure what the problem is with the avatars and I'm working on it, but I fixed yours.
Dan had the same problem and I had to fix his too.
I was able to upload my own with no problem, so it must be a permission problem somewhere in the forum setup.

Nice job guys! Lots of great features that should make things easier on Mary and Don at the door.

Carl

Site looks good. Just used it today to pay for membership. Figured I have been to a few events at TFP with you guys and chat in here every so often, that I should actually join for real.

Thanks everyone. :)

Just keep in mind that if you only registered on Fragswapper for the upcoming swap, you still aren't actually registered for the swap and won't avoid filling out the registration forms at the entrance table. You need to go on the NCPARS site and register so the club will have a record of your registration info and you will be able to get right in. As of now, there are only a few who registered on the NCPARS site and a ton who only registered on Fragswapper.

I think the confusion is with saying Registered on fragswapper...

Sign up on fragswapper to view corals... Register on ncpars.org for the swap. You can also prepay for membership, entrance fees, etc via the ncpars.org site now with ease as well.

You are reading my mind Larry.Thank you.I believe we need to send a mass email to everyone informing them about the express entrance option and registering on the www.NCPARS.org.They are now able to pay on the site and register for the event which was never possible before . many members have been asking for this. The problem I see is that very few will ever visit this thread or forum and not get this needed bit of info until it slowly trickles down the grapevine.Maybe we can get the word out with a email to our group

Yes bud,we need to get this to all the folks that frequent our swaps and not expect them all to see it here.Great way of putting it though. This has always been a grey area and I must admit when I first joined the society I was puzzled on this point.Maybe you can add something on fragswapper.com to help get the word out there
