Yes sir.It is great to get a big crowd of reef peeps in one place at the same time.Much is learned along with our coral genetic pool growing every year.We have so much more LE and ORA cultured stuff now as compared to 5 years ago when I first joined the society. Its getting better each year and steady growth thanks to our loyal members and awesome sponsors.

FYI it is up on www.fragswapper.com so let the madness begin.

This is the first time I will be attending a frag swap or going to That Fish Place.

What exactly is it and what is the new gene pool?

The Winter Frag Swap is an event organized by the club which allows members to trade and sell corals using www.fragswapper.com Members ofter acquire new corals that no one in the club has and sell them at the swaps. Thats what the phrase "new gene pool" means. There are hundreds of corals and lots of specials throughout the store.

I can't wait. I hope that swappers will use the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday to post their photos to fragswapper -- I love that site! It makes planning for the swap so much easier (I know that I have to bring more money than I have already committed to on the site.) Thanks NCPARS and TFP/TPP.

Hi Elysia. You are not alone.I cant wait either.lol.
FYI many swappers will not post until it gets a bit closer.Usually the last month before the swap is when you really see all the goodies.Try to be patient, there will be 100s of more corals posted by the end of December.

My girlfriend and I will be joining the NCPARS very soon! We are very young in the saltwater hobby but very much into it! We went to That Fish Place about 2 weeks ago and cannot wait to go back in January for this swap!

Seeing as my girlfriend an I have never been to a frag swap what is the protocol? We have some coral but I do not think we will have anything worth fragging at that point so we will likely be looking to buy corals. What goes on at the frag swap other than frag swapping?

the protocol for the ncpars swap is... show up early and beat the mad rush. TFP swaps draw ALOT of people and i have seen the line to get in wrap around the store. Once there walk around and check out the goods. There is no need to bring frags to trade or sell if that is not your interest. The frag swap is not literally a "frag swap" think of it as a flee market. There will be fellow reefers selling some of there goods along with some vendors not to forget the great selection of livestock and drygoods That Fish Place has to offer. We also have a ton of awesome stuff that has been donated by the clubs sponsors. Things like skimmers, RODI's, tons of fish foods and additives, Filtration systems and corals are some of the stuff donated in the past that gets raffled off. Last year one of our club members walked out of TFP with an awesome COMPLETE tank setup. tank, stand, sump, everything. We also have guest speakers and demos at some of the swaps. Our president Dan demoed fragging an ORA Pocillopora Damicornis last year the size of a volleyball and gave the frags away for free. There is just about everything you need all in one place. If we had a tad more space we would prob have clowns and face painting for the kids. maybe even a carnival if it was warmer.. ok im getting ahead of myself lol anyway im sure i speak for the entire NCPARS club by saying we are looking forward to meeting you and your girlfriend at the TFP frag fest extravaganza!!!
