I currently have nice frags of red planet, sunset milli, Cali blue, green Slimer, blue prostrata, pink lemonade, toxic green, and a couple I can't think of at the moment... Some are pretty browned out, but thats cool... I'm gonna be able to have somewhere around a dozen with some space... I will also be keeping 1 frag rack in the tank... There are a couple I wana get that I like personally... But I'm not gonna go crazy with any one type of coral... I wana keep things balanced and demands relatively low...

So will this be more of a traditional type of reef and if so why the change from your other reefs?

Yes... A regular old traditional rock and sand setup :)

I jus felt like it was time for change...

Interesting your gonna change formats. I've been thinking about using your original idea as I want to move towards a more coral centric theme.

I had it in my cold water tank for a little and loved it I could put crazy amount of flow compared to the sand I had in there let me know if you get the same it seemed once it settled it didn't move much

Picked up a 40 lb bag of dry carribsea reef grade aragonite today... It's crazy how much u can rinse this stuff and it's still cloudy... Added about 25 lbs of it anyway to my new display today... Turned my vortechs up all the way til tomorrow to see how the sand would react under the highest flow conditions... I'm thinken it's gonna gather around the base of the island with the whirlpool effect I have... So we will see what happens when I check in tomorrow... I'm pretty happy with the look... I'll pickup some clean up crew for it soon...

Will take a pic tomorrow as well once it's settled and cleared up...

well after a night of full power vortechs, not sure we can turn them up all the way, lmao...

prior to the pic, i moved the vortechs from their original position...

:smokin:

I don't have sand or sps in yet, but guessing by playing with my vortechs the last couple days, they will run at about 75 to 80 percent of full power, at their set max speed...

check that, lol... roughly around 55 to 60%...
