Here's my tank setup:
55 gal main tank
2 zoo med power sweep heads
29 gal fuge: caulerpa r. (sea grapes), 2 red mangroves, pair of oscillaris clowns
little giant pump for return
lighting: 4x 96 compacts (3 actinics 1 50/50)
2 actinics on 12 hrs/day, other 2 bulbs 8hrs/day
fuge has eclipse hood on reverse schedule. lights are 18" actinic and daylight lamps.

I just lost a yellow gonopora is it possible for a piece of the gono falling off to kill off a raspberry monti? sorry about the ignorance I've just been out of the loop for a while.

Goniopora are very aggressive corals they can easily sting other corals.
Gonio is also well known as a hard to keep coral ,believed to be mostly due to the feeding required

I know both of those bits of info but I think what I'm trying to say is can a slimed off piece of the gonio kill a monti when it comes in contact with it?

Ok guess that would make sense. It was kinda blowing around a bit in the tank just thought it was weird that only that monti was affected. But then again there was a piece wrapped around it like a evil little present that I just quickly waved off of it for the powerheads to suck it up so I could rinse the sponges later and get it out of the tank. There seems to be a tiny piece of the goni alive you think I should just take it out or see if it's gonna bounce back. It's just an awesome color that I'd love to keep in my tank. But it was free and I'd hate for it to kill my pocillipora or my hydnophora.

I'm starting to turn my tank back around from the crash it had back from the hurricane. When I lost power for 2 months. I hooked a geneator to it but I couldn't get one for about 2 weeks. Needless to say I lost most of my nicer stuff. It just agrivates me. I do work at the LFS so I get a good discount on the things we have (or can get). Does anyone have any good suggestions on the proper number and type of janitors to clean my minor hair algae prob?

I really prefer the turbo snails, especially the big mexican turbos. They plow throw the hair algae.

They can also knock rocks off of other rocks though so everything needs to be pretty firm before putting them in, if you decide to get some. They're bulldozers.

And currently I have no skimmer. :( I'd like one that would fit in the area in the 29 gal that I blocked off with a bubble trap, it's also where the return pump is. The area is about 5.5" wide and 7.5" deep. The water level in the tank is only about 16" instead of the 18" height of the tank, so I think the overflow of the skimmer should go back to the main part of the fuge. I'm using an eclipse hood, but just for the lights (and to keep the cats out of it). Still just havn't figured out how to make the collection cup and try to fit it into such tight quarters. Does anyone have any suggetions on this? Or just think it's just a bad idea?

I've had the mex. turbos before and they were good at eating. But like you said they knock everything over. I have turbos, ceriths, nasarius, zebra turbos (at least that's what they call them at work), We have both the red and the blue legged hermits. We also have sally light foots and mithrax crabs. I've also had a Elysia Diomedea nudi and he has suddenly "dissapeared" on me with no signs, shrinking or folding up. And all my powerheads are covered up w/ filters but anyways. I also have just a touch of red slime that's mixed in with some of the green hair. So the best combo of any of these would be great. The turbos tend to die if I don't watch them to make sure they don't fall over on there back. Did I mention I have 4 wrasses in the tank? Though I think they all would leave them alone, you never know. I'm not a big fan of the blue legs cause I've never seen them eat much algae I prefer the red legs but as for the others I'm up for all opinions. And I'd prefer to not have to glue the whole rock work together to keep it from falling.
