If I remember correctly EYESEEU had one sitting around when I stopped over to pick some stuff up from him a few weeks ago...he lives out by Salty Critter...

should give him a shout...I don't think he was asking a lot for it...

I have a 250 Watt MH pendant/ballast/bulb that I can get rid of. It's one of the Aquamedic Oceanlight ones.

I think that light would cook his 29 gal

I have a 250 watt MH over my 37 gal and my corals are growing like crazy. It is though plumbed to my 300 gal tank so it stays cool. Just make sure you have enough flow and can keep the tank cool or like Mike said you will fry everything. My 2 cents

I have a 65 with 2 - 250 Watt MH lamps and 2 - 3 ft. VHO actinic lights. I've never had any problem at all!

Oh yea, and it only has an 18 gallon sump.

I also had a 29 that I go from Josh "ScottFarcuz" that had a 250 watt MH lamp inside a canopy over it.

This would be a 250w MH pendant, no canopy needed.

That being said, I won't plug up this thread anymore! I was simply letting him know that I have a light, because he needs a light!!!!

I am now an assistant professor at Kent State, so I would be able to meet him in Kent too.

I ran a 400w 20,000K over my 29g for about a year. It was about 10-12" off the surface of the water and corals grew very nicely.

I did have a 20g fuge/sump with it. I ended up donating the whole setup to BrineyDave's classroom.

Here's a pic of it in its prime.

Yeah I ran that 29 for over a year with a 250w MH and 2-55w pc's. Had 175 on it before that. It was all in a pretty tight canopy. I did have to run fans, and keep an eye on things.

Kevins 29 with the 400w was a pretty cool tank. It was open top in his basement so it was cheating a little.
