Back in April I bought a beautiful Green/orange rock anemone. I placed it in a prominent spot in my 180 about midway down with a slight current. Apearently this was not a happy place for it and it proceded to walk to the back of my tank and underneath my rockwork never to be seen again. Unfortunately i had battled several things in this tank and completely lost interest in it. the Mrs and I decided to sell this tank and downsize. It was sold and broken down on July 2nd.
I moved several of the rocks from this tank into my new 66 gallon setup. I was amazed to see this white with light green tipped anemone that I had completely forgotten about.
anyways, its in good shape. Oral disk look good, but it is bleached out. I would like to move it to a more sunny place to help it color up, but as you know, anemones dont like to be moved and dont like to stay put where we want them. he is on a very lare solid rock that is the base structure of my scape. on top o this rock is a very very large piece of shelf rock.
My questions are these:
1. Should I both moving this guy into a brighter spot? if so, any good advice on geting him to move (i tried pointing a powerhead at him last night for 30 mins.. nothing)
2. If I move him, do i want him up high or down low? will he be ok on the glass bottom of my 20" deep tank (barebottom).
3. He is getting indirect light at this time.
Factors: Old lighting was a custom built LED system with 126 3watt leds. it was about a 12-14000 spectrum 24 inch deep tank. nitrates got high.
new tank is 20 inches deep. nice clear water. Nitrates were zero and phosphates were .09 at last test. Alk was 10. Ph 7.9. above it I have three led panels. in the center I have a Reef Radiance DM-132 runnign at 90%. on each side of that I have chinese blue/white panels with 55x 3 watt leds. runing about 90% on blue and 60% white. No optics here.
