need a mini power supply for just a single computer fan?

Alright I have just a basic computer fan that I am going to put in my stand to pull out all of the hot air my magnectic ballast makes.

it already has a peripheral connection, so is there a small power supply that will plug into a single computer fan via peripheal and then just plug right into an outlet?

I'd prefer to NOT have to cut and splice wires.

Looking for just a plug n' play supply.

By peripheral connection do you mean the 3 pin that would plug into the motherboard headers (pic #1) or the 4 pin that would plug into the power supply like the hard drive power connector (pic #2)?

I have the tools to make the 4 pin connector for either end if that's what you need. I also have a bunch of "wall-wart" power supplies that would easily power one fan. Is the fan 12v and how many milliamps?

these walwart supplies, they just have a regular plug and then you can add the 4 pin connector on?

Is there anything I can buy from walmart that is already pre-done?

or do you always have to modify for a situation like this?

Yes I believe it is 12v, not sure how many milliamps... how do I figure that out?

I have never seen one with the correct plug for that already installed but I could do it up for you with heatshrink and the right connector if you need it. I would personally just grab some heatshrink and solder the wires then heatshrink them to make them waterproof. If you want to make it easy to unplug you could use the ends from a headphone extension cable.

The fan should say how many mA it is right on the label. It will be something like 12vDC 200mA.
