Need a pump

I bought the Poseidon PS1 from you in January and like it, as it is nearly silent. However, it is adding a lot of heat to my 55 acrylic tank and the temp is now almost 84 degrees. I figure I need another pump for the summer.
What do you recommend that is around 500-800 GPH, for a return pump (not pressure), that won't heat the tank so much and, very importantly, is quiet. Thank you.

Thanks for your inquiry. As you have experienced, the Poseidon pumps is extremely silent, but it does run a bit hotter than other pumps. Unfortunately, there is not another pump that is as silent and as powerful.

If the heat is more of an issue than noise, your next best choice would be an Iwaki pump. It is not as quiet as the Poseidon pump, but is still considered very quiet. Either the MD20RLXT or MD30RLXT would work well for a 55 gallon tank. You can find more information on them here:
