need a tank and suggestions

HI Everyone:

Some suggestions for a tank for my son's friend. He wants to set up a tank for a present for his girlfriend who is in absolute love of clowns...preferably the Nemo kind as they call it. Something small and simple. A pair of clowns and maybe another oddball or two. No corals or anything really...maybe lots of fake stuff. Something easy for an 18 year old to take care of.

So does anyone have any suggestions on tank size, and they are looking for a tank if anyone has something that might work for them. He wants to do this asap. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

55g tank, 2 clowns and a gramma. Go with feather dusters later on if it seems to "empty". That nine inches of fully grown fish right there.

Get a HOB skimmer, a heater, and a small SEIO pump. (Well, get a spare heater and pump too) Closed plastic top, a cheap strip light, plus the basics for water changes.

Oh, and some books on basic saltwater fish care and a copy of the newbie saltwater thread from here on RC.

Skip the sump if they're not "fish" people. It's hard enough sometimes to just get a fish tank running correctly, none the less fixing pump/return/sump levels/overflows/etc that come along with all of that.

And for the love of all that is salty and wet, have them ask before buying that Dori fish or a startfish or anything like that. Nothing kills the "this is a great thing" feel faster than DOA livestock.

Here's a different one.

55g tank, 3 chromis, a clown, and a dottyback or six line.

All of them should eat good and be tough enough fish to live through some of the beginner mistakes.
