Has anybody experienced extremely fast damage occuring to their acan lords where just the center tissue is gone and the outside ring of tissue is left in tact?
For some reason this keeps happening to me and it worries me. It happened to two polyps on my nicest frag one time and I thought it was the peppermint shrimp. I've since gotten rid of them. The two polyps have grown back like new again, thankfully.
Now, I have a different frag where the tissue is just gone out of the center over night and you can see the skeleton while the ring of tissue around the edge is left in tact, once again. I have quite a few now and no other ones are showing any stress. It's just one polyp and it's not from another agressive coral. The rest of the frag looks great.
Not much around it and it is glued on it's side, facing the front glass, in the top 1/3 of the tank under T-5s. Moderate flow going by it.
