I'm starting a 250 gal reef tank that will have sps, a few lps, a carpet anemone, zoos and maybe a clam. I'm trying to find the right balance between the two because I love both. This is the fish list I came up with. Would love to hear some feedback.

Tangs
Powder blue- A. teucosternon
Achilles- A. achilles
Yellow- Z. flaviscens
Purple- Z. xanthurum
Black- Z. rostratum

Angels
Multi barred- C. multifasciatus
Swallowtail- G. melanospilos

Butterfly
Longnosed- F. flavissimus
Golden- C. semilarvatus
Copperband- C. rostratus
Open to another butterfly but don't know which one

Anthias
3 Sunburst- S. latus
3 Yellow spotted- O. borbonius

Gobies
Blue stripped-G. oceanops
Yellow rose- S. nematodes
Yasha- S. yashia

Wrasse
Fairy- C.
Clown- C. solorensis

Other
Gold spotted rabbit fish- S. punctatus
Blue spotted jaw fish- O. Rosenblatti
Orangespotted filefish- O. Longirostris
3 Blue chromic- Chromis cyanea
False clown pair- A. ocellaris
3 Banggai- P. kaudermi

Shrimp
Candystripe pistol- A. randalli
Harlequin- H. elegans
Cleaner- L. amboinensis
Sexy- L. amboinensis

Carpet anemone will eat stuff.
Harlequin shrimp exclusively eat starfish feet and are very difficult to care for.
Sexy shrimp are tiny and will be bullied by the cleaner shrimp and eaten by the fish.
I'd suggest tiger pistols instead of candy stripe pistols. Tigers are larger and more visible in larger tanks.

The powder blue and Achilles won't make good tank mates, you should pick one or the other. Get all the Zebrasomas at the same time and same sizes. Orange spot filefish can be difficult at best to get eating prepared foods

Why do you say that the powder blue and Achilles won't get along... Even if I get everybody at the same time and size? The file fish would be hard to keep if feeding live food? Never had one before but from what I read is it needs live food.

Tangs are hit and miss. I have a pbt, sailfin and yellow, and they all get along.
Pbt is def the boss, but the archilles is not cheap.

Carpet anemone with fish, your asking for trouble. I read a post on here where someone lost a regal angel to one, so I wouldn't do it.

PBT and Achilles are like clowns and Sohals about as mean as they come but clearly you will do what you want since you sound like your mind is made up. Orange spot filefish eat corals FYI which is live food so your right in that respect. Sounds like you should do some more research... :reading:

Small Alien had medium term success with this file fish but I suspect that he was unable to supply appropriate long term nutrition. Use google search and you should run into his long thread and more as well. Search argument: 'orange spotted filefish',site:reefcentral.com

I agree with Dmorty about trying to mix those two tangs.

If you get a carpet anemone, be willing to lose some fish, it WILL happen. You have to really want a carpet to buy one, it's just their nature.

So do you guys have any thought on another anenome I could get if any. I'm scared if I get a bubble it's going to want to move around and sting everything in its path.

All anemones move around the tank until the find their spot. Change lighting or flow they will move again. Don't get anemone if one moving around is a problem because that's what they do

That's a valid concern. BTAs are the ones that walk around the most in my experience. Sebae (Crispa) and Malu won't move as much as BTA.

I wish my rose bubbles would move carpet anemone is asking for trouble I had one eat a clown, trade it for a rose bubble and it split into two.
