Need advice for 65G tank

Hi Roger,

Need tips for my 65g mixed reef tank.

Tank is 36*18*24

Top 60% will be dedicated to SPS and the remaining 40% bottom area would be LPS and Zoas.

Plz advice which power heads would serve me well and also where would you suggest placing them.

Currently I have two 6045 but I am not sure if thats the best way to go. Both are on the side glasses .

I would go with 2 6055 as the ideal, possibly with 1 6045 or 1 6055 and 2 6045, you could also probably do fine with 2 6045 and a 6206 Nano Wavebox.

I like the idea of two 6055 . Can you tell me where should I position them? I have a two island rock work.

I think the one on the right is well positioned though I would aim it to hit the front almost in the diagonal corner, I would place the other on the left back wall just a bit higher than the one on the right and use the same positioning to nearly the opposite diagonal corner.

Hi Roger, I would like to hook one 6045 to a UPS so that It can run when there is a power failure.
Is it okay to directly hook to APC UPS? or should I use some thing in between to condition the current?

Also do you have some kind of exchange program where I can send in my 6045 and pay additional to get a 6055 ?

We don't have an exchange program but you could likely sell the pump on eBay or here and buy a 6055. The UPS would keep the pump running but the pump would likely have trouble starting from a UPS because the Hz frequency is imperfect.
