need advice - how to get a gigantea to detach

I've got a buyer for my gig, and just now i went to see if it was on a rock or the tank, and its foot is anchored to the tank glass. Whats the best way to safely get the gig to detach from the tank?

take rock out with anemone, if you can safely cut away/break away the rock inch away from the foot. If its just a solid rock don't know whay to do.

If the foot is on the tank glass, you can use a credit card to lift the foot. If it is on the rock, try putting ice in bag and rubbing it on the foot.

If it's on the glass like you described, then what Butchhe said, use an old credit card or even better a frequent flyer card, I found that they are thinner than regular cards.

I remove mine from the glass like that all the time.

You can also use a silicone spatula like this one:

I've had good luck with that exact same one (though it sucks for flipping eggs).

thanks all, it came out easy. it was a freaky experience though, as i was lifting itout in a bowl, it grabbed both my hands and didnt want to let go, the longer it held on the more it stung...wacky...
he's in a big tank now
