Need advice on a new return pump.

I had a mag 12 running in my 36x24x24 and felt that was way to much turnover for the sump. Also the water flowing past the overflow and down the durso was still a little noisy for my tastes. This setup is going in my living space so quite is a MUST.

I was thinking of a quiet one 3000. There wont be any unnecessary plumbing for the pump to go through. The return is directly above where the pump will be. Im still debating on if i want the return split in 2 like orgionally planned, or put it in 1 and use the other as a drain for my new fuge..

I am running a quiet one 3000 on my closed loop. It is quiet and has good flow. Some people say they don't restart if turned off, but I turn mine off daily when I feed and it has never failed to start right up. Mine does not leak at all. I used it as my main pump for a while but it was a little much on my 55 gal. but should work great on yours.

I have a QO 4000 as my return on the 40. It does have a restart problem but it's getting better. I think they need a break-in period. Plus an end bushing change help to. I would do the QO again. Only 40 watts on the 3000 pump.
