need advice on taking pics of my tank!!!

I have a Canon Powershot A540 digi.6.0 mega pixels w/ 4x optical zoom.

Ok,I understand it isnt the best for close up shots but its all I have witch is a good camera for taking family pics.Its got all kinds of setting but when i take a pic up close the pic is super blurry,I do have it set at auto focus.

If more info is needed please let me know and ill look for a link.I need to figure out how to take the best pic FTS and up close w/ this camera.

Offhand it sounds like you are too close when trying to take close up pics. To get close up shots, use macro mode and play with the distance from your subject until the camera can focus on it. Glass often confuses auto focus mechanisms, by the way. If the camera has a manual focus mode, you might want to use that. If you can't focus on it in manual mode, you are most likely too close.

Shoot straight through the glass. Shooting at an angle introduces distortion and annihilates clarity.
