So my 240 full SPS reef is going thru a major change. I have switched my lighting from Radion G3 pros to...... (2) 250watt MH 20k Ushio bulbs. I have Hamilton Cabo 20x20 pendants. My MH are 14" above the water. Lights have been up for a week. They are running at 3.5 hrs a day. Since some of my corals are losing color and some going brown I'm thinking I need to lower my MH down a little and increase my running time.
I'm I thinking along the right path? I also have (2) 4' T5 fixtures with Blue+ and coral +
Thanks in advance!

I'm by no means a MH expert, but I did switch from led to halide over my temp tank. At first, I thought I was going to FRY my corals because the MH seemed like so much more light than the LEDs. The reality is that the LEDs are more powerful and intense than we can appreciate with our own eyes. I think that's why a lot of people burn their corals when switching in the opposite direction. If you were running your Radions pretty high, you could probably go to a full MH photoperiod without issue.

My opinion is you should mount them 10-12" above water, and start with 4-5 hrs. You can tweak from there. Fwiw, I have a 250 radium in a caymen sun reflector over a 30 gallon.
