New tank just setup specs as follows:
60" x 32" x 22" peninsula style at one end centered. I have 8" on each side of the overflow so plenty of room to "hide" a wavebox if I go that route.

5/8" starphire glass. I am ditching my vortech mp40 or putting it on my frag tank as it is way too noisy.

So here is my requirements for product choice.
This will be eventually sps dominated tank.
Noise is the major factor in the decision process since the tank is in dining room.
Second is sand storms. I purchased the finest particle sand after the lfs claimed they ran tunzes with this sand. My vortech created a sand storm.

So with that being said I am considering two streams with controller or wavebox and one stream on controller. As I mentioned above I have room on either side of the overflow for the wavebox to sit.

My concerns after researching, the wave sound going over the overflow box if I use the wavebox. Anyone have a fix to the issue? Or can anyone giveme a realistic noise level.

On the sand issue I can purchase some fiji sand that is coarser in particle size to weigh down the finer sand if need be.

Any help,would be appreciated

Whenever you have a wave in a tank with an overflow, there is a chance it will make some noise. Though there are some creative ways to minimize this noise, I think in your case you would be better to avoid it all together. I would suggest going with two 6105s on a 7096 controller. Running these on a Pulse flow setting will give your SPS all the flow they'll ever need, and they'll do it silently.

As for the sand issue, it's tough to say without first trying it. Too many variables affect how it will behave. One thing to keep in mind that it takes a few weeks for biofilms to form on the surface of a sandbed and these will help hold it in place. So although it may seem like too much flow for the sand at first, it may all settle down after a little time has passed.

Thanks Craig for the reply,
I was leaning toward the two stream solution due to the noise of the overflow. The wife would give me crap every night at dinner if it is a loud sloshing sound
