I have a clown tang coming .I treated a angel with success in the tank that is up and running with damasels .
I did prazi 2 rounds and a big water change . then copper for 5 weeks .
now the angel is in display.
would you do prazi or just put him in the copper . or try to remove the copper first . I have never kept a qt running before so need advise .

Unless its an emergency, I don't like to add new fish to a tank with Cu, much less a full dose. Let the new fish settle in, start eating, and get used to things first. Then slowly, over a week or so, introduce Cu to the desired dose. I'd get those damsels out too. Clown Tangs are not easy to acclimate and the last thing they need in a QT are pesky, nippy little damsels. Also, I don't trust copper copper compounds to stay fully effective indefinitely. You can remove the CU with cuprisorb, carbon, etc. if you want too. Another option: If you're sure your DT is parasite free; dump the QT water and use the DT water for the QT. The DT gets an added WC as well and water params are going to be the same when the CT goes to the DT.

+1

I've had several fish stop eating if the Cupramine dosage isn't ramped slowly. Better to get the fish acclimated and eating well first.
