Need an electrician -- & close call story

If you're an electrician, or you know a reasonable charging one, I'm looking to pay by the hour for the following help:
(1) I need someone to look the circuits as I mentioned below as I think there are too many neutrals connected.
(2) Size a generator: I really want to do a generator, with auto xfer switch (and not just for the tank). I have sort of a plan and want to talk through it.
(3) Possibly see how I can do a DIY battery backup with solar trickle charger for the tank until I get the generator fired up

I had a really close call this week. Our tank lights didn't come on and my wife noticed the ceiling fan was out on Tuesday. She called and I came home and nothing on the circuit was working including the pumps in the tank. The air stone and the UPS pump were on. Also the sump return from downstairs isn't on that circuit, so that all worked (heaters skimmer...)

Though troubleshooting, this outlet in the ceiling on a lower part of our kitchen read a hot neutral. When I took off the cover and pulled out the outlet, IT WAS ALL BURNT WITH THE BOX HALF MELTED. Everything was black, meated plastic and exposed wire everywhere. That could have easily been a house fire. What bothers me is the circuit on the breaker never tripped"¦.

I'm good with electrical so I removed the outlet from the scenario, and cleaned up and re-spliced all the cables. I didn't mention that 3-4 other house circuits also went through this one box too. What a mess but I redid it and left it all open. I want an electrician to look at what I did and consult before I put this all back in a box and close and do drywall patching.

I've used the brothers from DGS Electric on Federal in Engelwood for several projects. On time, great work, cleaned up and reasonably priced.

Glad you didn't burn more than the outlet!

My preference is to pay a reefer who happens to be an electrician, I'll hire out to a shop if it comes to that. Thanks Rob. Still looking....

Thank you for the info. I've been out of pocket the last few days for work on travel. I'll shoot a few PM's and making some calls today. Again, thanks guys. //Dave
