its been running for 4 months, and no i dont have an anemone yet, i was told it was best to wait at least 6 months.

How old is your tank? Do you have an anemone yet?

This quote makes anemones sound like a standard thing in reef tanks with clowns....which they aren't.

I have to disagree with what has been said. The clown in the video is a Occ. the clown in the second pic is a true perc. Now, with that being said, these both look to be tank bred specimens, and because of how alike they are, you almost certainly won't have any problems with them pairing up. BTW, if you have that second clown in Q/T, don't keep it in there for too long as you might end up w/ 2 females on your hands...

yeah they are both tank raised...

i was wondering about that but i havent read or heard anything about it. it was in a tank that had about 10 other clowns in it, and its only been in my QT for 5 days.

I would say move it in with the other clown, they say about a week is all it takes for a clown to fully change sex.

I've not heard this, but I wouldn't be surprised.

It might work better for you to move the female into QT rather than the male to the display, that way if you do need to treat them for something you don't have to try to catch them again and you're not putting any other fish at risk. Just make sure there's a good amount of PVC in there for hiding just in case the female is ornery.

I don't know for sure if the new clown is indeed a percula...it looks pretty ocellaris to me.

I heard that if you look at their eyes, and you see an orange border around the black pupil, they are Percula.

I agree. If I had to guess, I would say Ocellaris. Without counting dorsal spines, he's a little to young to be sure.
