Just found this on some live rock i just added to my tank. Can anyone ID this? Is it good or bad? If bad how bad? And how can i get rid of it?

Thanks in advance.

looks like aptasia to me, arrow crabs eat them and you can inject them (if you're quick enough) with joes juice, they arent horrible but they can sting fish and corals

muatlated aptaisia maybe, pep shrimp will work but ther hit/miss , joes juice/boiling water should do the trick

That is one fat aptaisia it must have been growing elsewhere and moved into view cause it looks way older then two days. normally they ugly sickly looking things never seen one that beefy.

oh ya if you get an outbreak copper banded butterfly fish will do the trick but you need to look at it as rental and not as an addition to your tank becuase after it eats it all up they ussaully die off. I have found them at my LFS for $25 bucks
Good luck

ARROW CRABS DONT WORK! They eat bristle worms not aiptasia. My bad, I remembered it wrong because I started noticing aiptasia and bristle worms about the same time. To get rid of the aiptasia, I bought peppermint shrimp and joes juice. BE WARNED....there is a difference in peppermint shrimp. I think its california and indo-pacific. the cali ones dont eat them as much. sorry about any confusion

Here is a trick I learned that SOMETIMES works on Aiptasia. If you can easily get to the rock, take it out and stick it in plain RO/DI water. The shock sometimes will cause the aiptasia to jump off the rock. Then you just flush him down the toilet!!

The RO-DI dip might kill a lot of organisms on the rock. If it's one small rock, that might be okay, although I wouldn't try it.
