ok so i learned that a clown does not host a anemone its the other way around...so thats one point for me. but idk about everything else

i have a 29 gallon tank i set up 3 months ago with 130 watts of power compacts 50/50. so far in my tank i have a little frag of toadstool and a head of zoa with two damsels and one pepermint and they are doing good. i wanted to do some research on anemones because i have a pair of maroon that will go in there soon and i wanted something for them. i know that bta are their natural host but its like $100 dollars my lfs said for a small little piece. i just wanted to know my choices before i did anything. i wanted a carpet anemone.

A pair of maroons will get too big for a 29g tank by themselves. They are the largest and most aggressive clownfish out there. A bubble tip would be your best bet as it is probably one of the easiest anemones ( you may need to upgrade your lighting as all anemones are high light animals) A carpet anemone won't work in your tank unfortunatly, it just gets too big and requires much higher lighting. I would wait until your tank is at least 6-8mths old before adding any anemone

Thats more than even I would attempt in a 29G. You need to read up on how large maroons will get. A BTA will do great in a 29, but not with a 130w PC. I used a 150w MH with great success over my 29. I also put in a pair of percs. Be warned however, in that small of a tank, the nem moving around will most likely wipe out your other corals before (if) it ever settles. All that aside I don't think a 3 month old 29G is 'stable' enough for the nem. Not to mention in that small a tank you need to be committed to water changes just about *every* week if you plan on feeding the nem. 29g will foul pretty quick.
