It is definitely a squillid, but I can't make a positive id without seeing more detail. My guess would be Squilla empusa or Gibbesia neglecta. How many spines make up the raptorial dactyl. Five is diagnostic for G. neglecta.

A reef tank is not a good environment for a squilid. These are nocturnal animals that burrow in mud.

Well he's in a tank by himself so I can change it to however he needs it...I do have very very fine sand that looks like Mud I could change it...

He's in about 7-8" of argalive now...I have tons more live rock I couldput in to shadow him...

Bascially anything at my disposal...

What ever you suggest Dr. I will do!!

The lateral process will also seperated the two species. The median carina is the ridge on the midline of the telson. In some squillids, there are additional pairs of carinae.
