I need about a 3-4 foot chunck of garden hose, but I really don't want to go out and buy an entire hose just to cut off a few feet. Does anyone have a piece that I could have? Maybe you (or your kid) ran over one with a lawnmower and now it's just taking up space in your garage while your wife/husband is pestering you about getting rid of it??? Anyone? I live in Round Lake, so I'd prefer not to drive far. If you're on the other side of the city maybe drop it in a manila envelope for $2 for me (we can figure something out). Thanks!

Hello, I am the next town over and have one you can borrow/use. I used it to pump tank water to the basement when we moved.

You can usually but a utility hose from the hardware store for a couple of bocks. I know ACE Hardware sells it buy the foot. Atleast the one in Roselle does.

saleenpwr88- I know they sell it by the foot, I was there last night actually. The problem is that it's not flexible enough. Garden hose is very flexible compared to the clear tubing that Ace sells.

Sugartooth- This would be a permenant thing here, is the offer still good? Like I said, I only need 3-4 feet.

Maybe I should have explained the application first....I have my CL all plumbed up, and on the return-line I have a T (during normal operation water just goes straight) with a ball-valve going off the side. This will make it easy to do small weekly water changes ~10 gallons. I just set a bucket next the the stand, pull out the garden hose which is connected to the ball-valve, and open 'er up. Spa-flex and other hoses I looked at are too rigid for this. I was afraid the moment placed on the fitting would crack it.

How much does a new one even cost? Can't be much. I'm sure a Wal-Mart would have one cheaper than the gas it takes driving a couple towns away......

Hello, Let me double check to make sure I wouldn't need it anymore. I have a couple that are very lengthy.
Also, if you are in a big hurry, you can use those python siphon hoses. It has a thread connector on it you can hook right up to the T for your changes.

I'll get back to you about the garden hose...

all of the HW stores sell 6' lengths for hooking up hose reels to the outside faucet (or other similar utility purposes) for under $10.

The ACE by me sells actual garden hose by the foot, I wasn't referring to the vinyl tubing. Not sure if they have it at all ACEs though. But if you can get it at Walmart for under $5, that is probably your best bet.

You were probably looking in the plumbing section....just ask them at ACE if they have RV or Laundry tub hoses...they are usually about 5 feet for $5.00 or in that area. The RV type is drinking water safe...which would make it safe for your tank...
