I just saw the pic of your skimmer on the H&S club thread...Holy #$%^! I would ask how to aquire one of those, but i think the tag would scare me out of the hobby! lol

I believe you :D. It cost me $7k plus $500 for shipping it to Southern Cal

I am gonna speak with jeff tomorrow on a custom with a larger diameter.

Been there and done that as I really wanted a Lifereef skimmer. He doesn't build with larger tube. The 6" diameter is all he offers:(

Seriously though, the venturi skimmer design is a decade back in technology. The needlewheel and beckett designs are much better at removing stuff. I am a skimmer nut....have had many skimmers and follow skimmer threads all the time. The venturi is just out-dated and your money would be much better spent on a needlewheel or beckett....this is all I will say on this thread though as you are going to do what you want or feel guided to do;)

I have around 800 total gallons with around 40ish fish I am very pleased with my H/S a250 I havent done a water change in around 1 year and my parameters a near golding. If you go with a H/S I can say they are built great and can handle a very large load.

Easy page two:D

Here are my two skimmers I described on 1000g of saltwater....ONLY 250 gallons more than your system:

Show me the skimmers:D

I was going to do page two but you know!!

I would only do a needle wheel skimmer for sure Bekkits are nice but take alot of work to keep skimming right IMHO.

the H&S a250 is only rated at 700 gall. Is it really that efficient?sp

Sorry just saw your post mine works very well and very easy to set. I really havnt messed with it sence I set 2 years ago.

Yeah, I know....you are too good for a page 2:D

I really love my custom Geo, but I have to say that Fade's H&S does a great job for his system.

I was thinking of two orca 250 pros, and someone talked me out of it
Why don't you go for the H&S A-300 for $2499 in stead of 2 reeflo 250. Most of the folks i know that using H&S protein skimmer they are very happy with it. I personally own a few in the past therefore i go with the big boy for my new system...
