need frag tank advice

I am interested in setting up a 72" frag tank. I want something shallow (12x12) but I rarely see anything like that online.

Any idea what it would cost to build one custom?

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me.

I would see if adrian would sell his frag setup, since he's trying to scavenge money to build his main tank, and for whatever reason decided to buy coralfraggers old frag tank setup, even though he doesn't have a tank setup yet....

He wasn't offering it for sale, but if you're looking for an already built tank/stand setup, it's a nice one. I think it's like a 4'x4'x10-12" or so.

garf.org has a tank calculator and instructions for building frag/grow-out tanks from plywood and glass with an expoxy waterproof lining.

I'm doing something similar for the aquaculture racks I'm building, but I'm going to be lining mine with sheets of white ABS plastic that's used for tub/shower surrounds.

Adrian didn't buy everything. He only bought the tank itself. I still have the stand, lights and a spare pump. It was a 4' x 4' tank similar to the ones at Coral Reef Farm only white instead of black.

u r looking to pay $250-350 for a tank like that well made.

So it was a one-piece molded white plastic tub?
Where did you find it originally?

Btw, what light/reflector did you have over it to cover a 4'x4' area?

Yes, it was a one piece tub. Originally I found it in the back room of an LFS and made them an offer they couldn't refuse. I have no idea where to get them. He didn't even know where he got them from. Maybe the guy at Coral Reef Farm would know. He also may be willing to get rid of some of his if you are interested in them. I saw some not in there the last time I was there.

Lights. Originally I had 2 Current Satallites above it and then went with 2 VHO retro kits. In the end, I had the 2 VHO kits AND one of the Satallites on it. I didn't have SPS in that tank. It was great for softies as I had it set up though.

Just reread that - didn't make sense.

I saw some of these not in "use" at Coral Reef Farm and I know that he was making room for some glass(or acrylic - can't remember which) tanks so he might be interested in getting rid of some of his if this is what you are looking for.
